RES-Q was built from lived experience and a deep commitment to supporting individuals, teams and communities through life’s toughest challenges.
Adam Bugden has spent close to two decades on the front line of the worst days in other people's lives. As a Fort McMurray firefighter who worked through the 2016 wildfire and has carried the weight of that experience publicly and privately since, he holds something rare: credibility that cannot be bought, manufactured, or trained into a spokesperson.
He has already stood in front of a camera and told a national audience the truth about fear, grief, and brotherhood under pressure. That moment was not a campaign. It was real. Behind the uniform, Adam was fighting battles of his own with PTSD and addiction, and when he finally decided he needed help, he learned that finding it shouldn't be another battle.
That's why RES-Q exists: not to replace the incredible people and organizations already changing lives, but to make it easier to find them, and to remind people that asking for help is one of the bravest decisions they'll ever make.
RES-Q is a private mental health, addiction and trauma navigation business serving Wood Buffalo and Treaty 8 territory. It is not a clinical provider or a crisis line, it's the connective layer that helps people find their way to the right support, faster, and the direct provider of education and peer-support training built on the eight R's below.
The instinct to notice who's struggling before they go under, and move toward them instead of away.
Every conversation ends with a concrete next step, a number, a program, a person to see.
Grounded in what's actually shown to work, not personal opinion alone.
Healthier responses to stress and trauma, in place of reactive patterns.
The capacity to take a hit and keep moving, without pretending it didn't hurt.
For the person, their culture, and the pace of their own healing.
RES-Q's resolution to protect your privacy to the fullest extent it can control, and a personal resolution you make to yourself.
Everyone gets to begin again, setbacks are part of the process, not proof of failure.
Adam's commitment to mental health advocacy has been independently recognized at the local, provincial and national level, long before RES-Q existed.
